Lithuania: Government opens a public consultation on VAT exemption from Specific Article of Medical Supplies

The Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate launched a public consultation over a proposed change to Article 20 of the VAT statute to exclude some medical items from VAT.
The proposal contains provisions to:
Introduce a VAT exemption for human organs, blood, breast milk, and dental prosthesis distributed by dentists and dental technicians
Revoke the VAT exemption for blood plasma goods combined with pharmaceuticals
Revoke the VAT exemption for dental prosthesis sold by intermediaries other than dentists and dental technicians
Revoke the VAT exemption for orthodontic equipment.
