Jersey: Introduction of 5% GST was postponed to July 2023
The States Assembly of Jersey agreed to postpone the introduction of a 5% GST rate under the GST law to 1 July 2023. It was initially planned to enter into force on 1 January 2023. The Minister for Treasury and Resources reconsidered implementing it on the 2023 Budget.
As a result, businesses will have more time to update their systems and adhere to the rules. The GST de minimis amount will stay at GBP 135 until 1 July 2023, and then, it will be reduced to GBP 60. Furthermore, the Government will impose a mandatory registration threshold of GBP 300,000 on non-resident businesses.
