Greece: Navigating Cross-Border Payment Regulations

Spread the love

The Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue made a significant announcement regarding the upcoming deadline of April 30 for payment service providers (PSPs). They are required to submit first-quarter cross-border payment information through a new digital application.

The directive specifies that PSPs encompass various entities such as credit institutions, postal check offices, and payment or electronic money institutions. Additionally, the Tax Agency will facilitate the transmission of PSPs’ data to the EU’s Central Electronic System of Payment Information (CESOP). This data will be accessible to tax administrations of EU member countries for conducting VAT fraud checks.

The Tax Agency has provided guidance on how to utilize the new application via its digital portal and where to access submission instructions.
