Belgium: Amendments to VAT provisions approved by Council of Ministers

The draft bill proposing amendments to VAT provisions was approved by the Belgian Council of Ministers. The bill encompasses various measures, including:

 

  1. Introduction of the non-customs warehouse exemption regime.
  2. Provision of entitlement for taxpayers to deduct based on the general pro rata or the actual allocation of goods and services, either in whole or in part.
  3. Requirement for taxpayers to include their VAT identification number on invoices for the annual list of VAT-liable customers.
  4. Specification of procedures for VAT recovery.
  5. Authorization for the VAT administration to collect information from payment service providers.
  6. Reduction of VAT rates for specific categories of items.
