It is expected that the Tax Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will provide a Value-Added Tax (VAT) refund for non-resident businesses having their economic activities outside of Saudi Arabia. The details regarding the provision are yet to be disclosed.

Provided that the deadline for submitting a claim for the year 2019 is 30 June 2020, it is recommended that companies should not avoid the submission of protective claims with an expectation that such a provision will be introduced. The entities may have to review their eligibility for the same if this regime is announced.
