Poland releases an extensive guide on the new EU eCommerce VAT package

The new EU VAT rules, which came into force on July 1st, 2021, resulted in significant changes for Polish VAT taxation and eCommerce entrepreneurs. On September 1st, 2021 the Polish ministry of finance released further explanations regarding the EU eCommerce VAT package. This includes definitions as well as practical examples of the new rules.

 

These new explanations cover the most important changes established by the eCommerce VAT package such as:

 

  • Intra community distance sales of goods
  • Distance sales of imported goods
  • The role of Online Marketplaces
  • The One Stop Shop (OSS)
  • The Import One Stop Shop (IOSS)
  • Special arrangements for sellers and marketplaces

This guidance released by the Ministry of finance starts with several basic definitions such as intra-Community sales, Distance sales, electronic interfaces, place of delivery, etc. After this, it continues to provide detailed analysis on situations by providing specific eCommerce based examples that Polish entrepreneurs have shown to have the need for.

 

This guide includes no less than 66 examples of cases that analyze common situations where the eCommerce VAT package is being used.
