Canada: Online platform operators and streaming service providers in Manitoba pay 7% retail sales tax, effective Dec. 1, 2021

The government of the Canadian province Manitoba, announced an enactment of the law on new sales tax requirements for online service providers. The law indicates that a 7 percent retail sales tax applies to online platform operators and streaming service providers. Online service providers are also required to register and collect retail sales tax on streaming services and online sales and accommodation platforms. The law comes into force December 1, 2021.
