In most countries, the sales of goods and services are taxed by the government with Value Added Tax (VAT). Companies are required to report all their sales to the tax authorities and pay VAT. The impact is substantial for businesses, especially for companies operating in multiple countries.

GVC provides all services needed by our clients to comply with the VAT rules. We call it VAT compliance services. We support clients in over 90 countries with the reporting of VAT to the tax authorities. Each country has specific rules that should be followed. Global VAT Compliance

GVC is based in The Netherlands and The Philippines. Our office in The Netherlands is responsible for sales and marketing, tax technology solutions, tax advisory, audit support, and client relationship management. Our office in The Philippines is the global delivery center of GVC supporting our clients with VAT compliance services.

What can you expect?

You will start with a basic introduction for one month. After completion, you will be assigned to one of our teams to continue with training on the job supported by senior staff. After four to six months, you will be ready for your position as a VAT compliance specialist. During your career, the training will continue to address new developments and prepare you for the next step. You will have frequent interaction with our team in the Netherlands and our clients. We expect from you that you will take responsibility for your assigned clients with the support of experienced staff (“buddy”) and your team lead.

Your entry position depends on relevant experience with the possibility to grow. Your growth depends on performance. You may develop your skills in the technical area or take on a leadership role.

We do employ about 50 tax compliance specialists and support in Davao and about 50 staff in the Netherlands. Our office is in Unit 301A, 3rd Floor, Topaz Tower, Damosa I.T. Park, Lanang, Davao City.

Qualifications:

  • Graduates of:

o Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

o Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology

o BS Business Administration (preferably with a major in Financial Management/Finance

  • Trainees who are interested to learn international VAT
  • Willingness to learn, develop, and contribute to a fast-growing company
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
  • Good communication skills in English and looking for opportunities in international business
  • Self-starter that brings both interpersonal skills and creative problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Registration of clients’ VAT numbers in various countries.
  • Analyzing the information provided by clients.
  • Preparation, review, and submission of VAT returns.
  • Ensures that VAT returns are calculated correctly and accurately.
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Monitoring and addressing clients’ inquiries and concerns about VAT returns and other reports.
