VAT compliance specialist – Denmark

Are you the person who wants to relieve your client’s burden of their worldwide VAT obligations by making sure their VAT compliance will be done correctly, on time as well as according to the applicable tax regulations? We are looking for you! Global VAT Compliance (GVC) is looking for a Danish-speaking VAT Compliance Specialist for our team in The Hague. It concerns a position of preferably 40 hours per week.  

Our Company 

GVC is was founded in 2010 and is a leading service provider in the field of international VAT compliance. We deliver a range of VAT Compliance services: single country, pan-European or globally; co-sourced or outsourced: 

• Preparation and filing of VAT/GST returns 
• ESL listings and Intrastat declarations
• VAT/GST registrations 
• Fiscal representation 
• Assisting with administrative obligations and audits 

The majority of our clients is involved in online retail and digital services on a global scale. We support not only e-Commerce businesses but also multi-channel retailers with both online and brick & mortar sales. We are based in The Hague and in Davao City (Philippines) and we provide our services in more than 55 countries worldwide.  

GVC is a dynamic place to work. We have a young and international team (over 20 nationalities) of around 90 employees spread across both offices.  This creates an exciting dimension to the team spirit and atmosphere at the office. The office in The Hague employs around 50 people in total and is easy to reach by public transport and car. 

Responsibilities 

In this role you will be responsible for: 

• Overseeing a portfolio of Compliance clients, dealing with subcontractors, resellers (companies for which GVC acts as a subcontractor) and the tax authorities 
• Reviewing the VAT/GST compliance and VAT/GST registrations which have been prepared in our branch office in Davao 
• Client communication/services:  
  • Answering questions from clients 
  • Updating clients about the status of their VAT compliance 
  • Advising clients about relevant changes in VAT regulations worldwide 
• Being in close contact with the local tax authorities 
• Assisting with tax audits  

Profile 

• You have proven relevant experience (1-3 years) with multi–country VAT Compliance with a specific focus on Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway
• You have excellent verbal and written capabilities in Danish, next to fluent in English
• You are a great communicator with clients and tax authorities worldwide 
• You are punctual and able to keep a close eye on deadlines 
• You can work independently and at the same time you have a team spirit 
• You are client-focused, proactive, initiatively, data-driven, and result orientated 
• You are eager to learn and follow the developments within your profession and VAT developments worldwide
