Uruguay: Government extends reduced VAT rate of 9% for the tourism industry until end of September 2022
Uruguay’s Executive Power extended the 9% reduced VAT rate (usually 22%) for certain tourism activities from April 30 to September 30, 2022, under Decree No. 140/022.
The decree aims to maintain the government’s efforts to stimulate business in the tourist industry. It went into effect on May 11, when it was published in the Official Gazette by the Executive Power.
