Ukraine: Government publishes FAQS on VAT exemptions
The Ukrainian Tax Agency published FAQs on VAT exemptions for import transactions. The scope of exemptions will be the goods included in List No. 224 under the Amendments to the List of Goods (Resolutions No. 1260 and No. 1340), which includes medicines, medical products, and equipment.
The following FAQS discussed are:
- Explanation of the possible VAT exemptions
- Statement that the exemptions are applicable regardless of where the items made
- Availability of the exemption for both businesses and people
- Applying the exemption to payments in advance for shipments occurring during certain tax periods and
- Process for reimbursing VAT paid on exempt supplies.
