Mexico: Government Updates Extension for E-Invoicing Procedures

Spread the love

The Tax Administration of Mexico has extended the deadline for classified e-invoicing procedures up to 31 December 2022.  The purpose of the extension of the procedures is to increase the level of revenues, reduce the chance of tax evasion, and fight corruption.

The procedures involved in the extension are:

  • Cancellation of electronic invoices for fiscal years prior to 2022
  • Application of the version 3.3 electronic invoicing and make it mandatory for version 4.0 starting 1 January 2023.
  • Ability to issue invoices without requiring an electronic signature or digital seal certificate to taxpayers under the Simplified Trust Regime.
  • Creation of active electronic signature to taxpayers under Simplified Trust Regime before 31 December 2022.
  • Allowance to taxpayers who need to activate their Tax Mailbox for registration and update contracts to avoid a penalty for a certain deadline.
